Abacus Diagnostica Oy is a Finnish molecular diagnostics company specialised in rapid DNA testing utilising the patented GenomEra® -technology. They are located in the dynamic Science Park area with a strong focus in life sciences in the city of Turku at the Southwest coast of Finland.
Abacus Diagnostica Oy was founded in 2004 by the inventors of the GenomEra® -technology at the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Turku. They are currently developing new technologies and expanding assay selection for the GenomEra® CDX platform, intended for the identification of infectious diseases like Clostridium difficile, MRSA, Norovirus and other critical human pathogens and antibiotic resistance markers.
The GenomEra® CDX workstation provides a powerful tool to run DNA testing routinely and cost-efficiently without compromising the quality of results and reliability.
In everyday use this means:
– SIMPLICITY –
All PCR reagents are preloaded on the test chips. The automated analyser includes built-in PCR amplification and detection, easy-to-use software and result interpretation.
– SENSITIVITY –
The assay principle is based on sensitive end-point detection with proven time-resolved fluorometry.
– SAFETY –
The test chips are irreversibly sealed by the analyser to eliminate contamination and allow safe disposal.
– SPEED –
The system features allow for rapid thermal cycling – definitive results for 4 patients are obtained in about an hour allowing a throughput of 96 tests in 24 hours from a single analyser. Up to eight analysers can run from a workstation for higher capacity.
