Launch Diagnostics Ltd was founded in 1990 by Joint Managing Directors John Twycross and Michael Hutchinson.
John Twycross obtained an Honours degree in Chemistry from York University. He began his sales career with Behring before working 12 years at Wellcome. He had a number of senior positions in Marketing and Sales, before leaving to establish Launch Diagnostics Ltd.
Michael Hutchinson began his career in Haematology before moving into his first sales position with Wellcome. He joined as a Sales Representative before being promoted to Field Sales Manager and ultimately UK Sales and Marketing Manager. John and Michael divide their areas of responsibility as follows :

Darryl Mingay joined Launch Diagnostics in 1996. Having qualified to fellowship level in Medical Microbiology, Darryl started at Launch as a Sales Representative, having worked up to UK Sales Manager he then transferred to the Marketing department and is now Marketing Director.
Pauline Boyle is a qualified Medical Microbiologist, having graduated with an MSc from University of London. She joined Launch Diagnostics in 1998 as a sales representative and has worked in various roles within Launch and Biokit before becoming Sales Director for Launch Diagnostics.
Ian Jones is a qualified electronics engineer with emphasis in the medical diagnostic field. He joined Launch Diagnostics in October 2000 as an Application Specialist and progressed to Technical Manager. In July 2004 he took up the newly created position of Technical Director and has responsibility for Technical Service Support and Training.
Over the years Launch Diagnostics has grown into the leading distributor of microplate diagnostic reagents and automation to the National Health Service in the UK. At Launch Diagnostics we understand the importance of providing a quality product and service which is why we are ISO9001 2000 registered throughout all departments.
Marketing and Business Development
In order to stay at the forefront of medical diagnostic technology Launch Diagnostics has an active Marketing and Business Development team who are constantly looking at new products and new technologies to complement and broaden the existing product range.
The Customer Service Department
Our aim is to provide a comprehensive customer service. We would like you to receive our products in optimal condition and in the quickest time possible. In order to achieve this we operate to well documented procedures which are regularly reviewed. The office based customer service team is fully trained and will do their best to make sure your specific needs are met.
UK and Ireland Sales Coverage
Launch Diagnostics has a technically trained team of sales representatives who provide total coverage for the UK and Ireland. They can advise you about new or existing products and offer instruments and kits for either evaluation or demonstration in your laboratory
Technical Service Support and Training
At Launch Diagnostics we are proud of our reputation for the quality of technical service we provide. The technical support team is broken into two departments to ensure the best-possible response to customer queries and demands, whether instrument or reagent based.
The Reagent Technical Support team offers support both by telephone and by field visits to assist with all aspects of Launch reagent usage. This team works closely with the companies represented by Launch.

The Instrumentation Technical Support team offers the same level of support with all the instruments sold by Launch. This includes staff training either on our premises in Kent or in your own laboratory, software upgrades, telephone trouble-shooting, and of course engineering support for service and maintenance.
At Launch Diagnostics we pride ourselves on our customer care programme. All our products are shipped with a one year warranty on labour and parts. We understand that whenever repairs are necessary speed is critical and our aim is to minimize any inconvenience.
